David’s Bridal (Edmonton): A Review
David’s Bridal came up on a google search for affordable wedding dresses. Their online store looked just like any other bridal website full of pretty things, but on a smaller price tag. When I learned that a new store is opening in Edmonton, I was very, very excited! I looked for news updates about when it opens, checked where the store is located, how to get there, and even checked to see if appointments are necessary. Among all the information, the most exciting one was that it’s an 8,200 sq ft store!!!
With all of that excitement, I brought my girls to check it out. As we drove by, the store is H U G E. It’s clean. And really really big. Really big.
Let’s see how the David’s Bridal experience turned out:
Service: 3/5
The wait time from arriving to getting a consultant was longer than we expected, considering there were more than a handful of staff crowded around the “check-in” table. Our consultant did not really understand our style, though, and kept pulling dresses we did not like.
Selection: 2/5
It’s small. There were a lot of dresses in the store, but many were just the same dress in different sizes. The variety was low.
Price Range: 5/5
Very affordable. I would say most dresses were at the lower end under $1000.
Quality: 1/5
It’s very low. For a dress that you will be wearing for a whole day, you really want something comfortable on. It was not comfortable to wear their dresses at all because of the roughness of the fabrics. The materials and the whole finished product looked very low quality.
Overall Impression: 2/5
Disappointed. I guess it’s just what you get for the price they offer.
My recommendation:
For dresses, it is probably best to shop elsewhere because of the comfort and quality. For accessories, though, you can consider checking them out. They have jewelry, shoes, and other things at very affordable price points.
